    Not joking... years ago I started using balloons. The type that you make balloon animals out of. When you are big-wall climbing, weight is paramount and it was the lightest inflatable thing I could think of. Turned out to be so good I've used it in every camping situation. I just carry a bag of balloons. Every morning when I am getting ready to roll, I just pop the balloon. DONE!

    Probably can't hold a candle to some memory foam pillow though. But a thin, long balloon works great in a hammock.

    I have even more pillows than I have hammocks. I really like the Hammock Gear Economy XL pillow, and also the SLD Apex Climashield pillow (a little smaller). If I’m really cutting weight, though, I use a Klymit X inflatable, to which I’ve glued a D-ring for a tether. My kids both like the Trekology inflatables. The Klymit Top Down is also pretty comfy. Pillows are enough cheaper than hammocks that it’s fun to try different ones.
