    Source for wide fabric?

Anyone know where I can find fabric wider than 5'? Has to be downproof and breathable. Anything over 60" wide.

I've already checked the regulars like RSBTR and Dutch.

    Thanks guys.

    edit: can't believe I typed 6' there. I of course meant 5'

Yes you can but I need downproof, calendered material.

Have you looked at diygearsupply.com? That site isn't mentioned my these days, however, Scott has been a long time vendor on this site.

I found some downproof 1.1 ripstop at diygearsupply.com that is 64" wide.

    Sweet.

Hopefully that met your project needs. I have connected calendered ripstop with simple felled seams for a quilt application and that worked really well and was actually pretty easy. So if you wind up needing wider, it wouldn't be crazy to join to pieces of fabric.

I think that is what I will have to do. Didn't want the seam but can't find fabric wide enough. Need 72" wide. Just didn't want a seam, that's all.

Make the quilt multi coloured. That way the seams become features. UGQ has shown several examples of multi coloured top quilts.

If you go that route, what I did was just a very simple seam with the right sides of the fabric together, then I laid that seam down and just top stitched it to one side. Use matching threads and it can even look nice IMO. Here is how I did it:
