Guys,
I finally got some time last Friday to hang my new Warbonnet Ridgerunner and SimplyLightDesigns Winter Haven tarp. I must say I was a bit on the anxious / nervous side. Hiked in about a mile and found me a spot. Everything went well albeit slow. It's funny the little things are sometimes the hardest. The trees I selected were large and getting the strap around them was the hardest part of the whole setup. I didn't want the carabiner flying around smacking me in the teeth. I setup the hammock and then the tarp and the wind made that process a bit harder than it should have been but it was my first time. One thing I will need to investigate is better tarp stakes. I have 7.5 " aluminium stakes and with the leaves and soft ground they didn't want to hold at all. Add to that that just below the dirt level was solid rock and it made the staking process not a lot of fun. I ended up tying off to logs and smaller trees. Here's a couple of pics I took with my new GoPro and I'm still getting used to that as well.
