I see a lot of ridgeline options available but I was considering just buying a 25' line of Zing It and tying it off to my suspension using a bowline and a tautline. Any fellow hangers see any issues with this?

Zing It is pretty slippery for knots, I'm not sure it would hold, especially the tautline hitch. I made a whoopie sling out of Zing It for my SRL as I wanted the adjustability. In practice, I never move it from 83% of hammock length, so I'll probably just make a fixed length Zing It line with two fixed eyes in the near future.

I agree that a tautline may not hold well on new zing-it. If you don't want to splice, you're probably better off using bowline on one end and a truckers hitch on the other end to adjust it until you find your preferred length. Once you do, you can replace the truckers hitch with another bowline.

Good to know. Thanks for the advice. I guess I'll just take a chance on the well accepted norm of 83% on a fixed ridgeline.
Before you spend your $. Check the price difference between zingit and Dynaglyde. I switched to Dynaglyde for my ridge line in case I need some extra length for a long distance hang while out hiking. Just a little double use insurance. Just my $.02
I do exactly that when I'm trying new hammocks until I decide on my ideal length. I find that for different fabrics and hammock lengths I prefer slightly different ridgeline percentages, but so far I've been too lazy to make an adjustable one.
