Thanks for the detailed instructions. I got my hands on the 2010 version of Lamzac - The Original Lamzac (aka Lamzac Zitzak) - the one that looks like giant pillow (premiered on Dutch inventor TV show in 2010 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdqAQHo-K_M). Here are the detailed photos of the Lamzac Zitzak product - makes a lot of sense how they designed the closure on Lamzac Hangout and the liner bag https://goo.gl/photos/ZZQcit3ZuUVXrCoL9 . Although it did not hold air pressure for too long.

Here is the video that I recorded showing how the Old Gen Lamzac Works in Action https://youtu.be/iOPXWZWsYvs

Let me know if you were able to get your hands on an actual "lamzac hangout" - would love to understand how the inside is built.

I used a straight stitch, 10 stitches per inch. And with the HEX70 PU3000, I sealed with Seamgrip.

Somehow I missed all the Lamzac threads and just discovered the product a few minutes ago.
This looks really neat. Glad to see someone working on a DIY version.

How well does it work as a stool or bench? Could one sit up in it and use it as a replacement for a camp stool?

I really like the camp stool idea. Would make a nice lightweight place to sit that doesn't take up much space. I just saw these too an am now very interested in trying to make one.

    Very cool build!

I was thinking that you could use a strip of fabric to create a straight divot instead of stitching with cord. You'd basically have two compartments to lay on top of.

The question is: how much fabric does this really need? Did you cut sections for the ends?

You said that you used all 6 yards of fabric minus half. Did you have to use 3 lengths of almost 3 yards to make a wide enough diameter or did you just sew two sections together like a sleeping bag pocket and put a section to complete the one end and then inflate?

Can you re-draw what you ended up with? Post more pictures? This is a super cool project!

It seems if you added some limiting lines between the sewn edges of the tube to "shape" the middle into the seat it would hold shape no mater how much air was used. The lines could be webbing or Dyneema. Longer lines on the ends and getting shorter toward the middle to form an arch or hourglass shape. If you used a thinner Dyneema (fishing line) you could possible sew the shape using the lines between the long seems to create the hourglass shape. Seem seal after and you would be good. The paddle board and rafting industries use a process called Drop-Stitch to maintain shape and constant thickness across a distance or surface.

This is the same idea but with a single row along the sewn edges.

The valve is just a standard raft valve like a NARU.

I've sewn up kind of a shorter version, but I can't keep the end from un-rolling and popping open. Any advice?
