Can anyone comment on Dutches dark olive vs RSBTR s ? They seem worlds apart in the photos.

I think really don't think that you need to worry about private land in the UK, there's no criminal trespass. The laws are there for gypsies and fly tippers, I've met loads of farmers, landowners over the years and they've always been fine. If you like camo though it's completely up to you (I mostly sell muted bushcraft colours) but there no actual need IMO.

It's a fair point, generally if you don't antagonise then people don't m mind. But not sticking out like a sore thumb helps to not antagonise imo. And it helps me relax when I've not asked permission.

As a landowner myself I don't think if be horribly bothered unless they didn't actually practice LNT or if crowds of bushcrafters turned up.

But cammo is cool and I generally like my setup to look unobtrusive.

Good to hear reports on UK wild camping success though.

My rule of thumb is to always be off trail enough that a orange tarp is hidden from view. Placement is paramount obviously.

If you like camo it's all good though. The issue I have (because I'm obsessive) is that the camouflage I've seen available is small and designed for clothing sized applications. For a tarp the camouflage pattern needs to be much bigger to break up the straight lines of the ridge-line etc, pedantic I know but things like this irritate me! ☺

Apart from the lack of forested areas in the UK I've always found camping fairly easy

This would be a big hit in Sweden, also a "right to roam" country (allemansrätten).

Thanks, I do actually make custom tarps and bits ☺ this one was just because I liked the colour's (I sure didn't need another!)

allemansrätten is jealously inducing to the English, especially in beautiful Sweden!

Here is a video that has my latest tarp made out of Dutch's Xenon in Dark Olive (skip to 4 minutes in for the Xenon tarp) - That's it in the preview shot.

That's a really useful video as it has tarps in pretty much evey fabric I've considered even sil argon which I nearly bought at the time, before Dutch stopped selling it.
Do you have a particular favourite material out of them?
    Thanks

the way we select camo colors for mil-sim paintball uniforms and gear is to take a picture of the area we plan to blend in, edit it on your PC so that the pixels are very large (very pixelated) and pick the most common colors. You could do the same to find your prime color. BTW - concerning digi-camos, the Germans used a pea-dot camo in WWII similar in effect to modern digi's, I personally like old woodland type or OD greens, but that's what I wore when I served so....
