Here's a TQ I put together. Tabs on the bottom. Grosgrain ties on the collar and an integral shock cord so it can be tightened around the neck and shoulders. 20161201_090815.jpg20161201_090911.jpg20161201_090829.jpg

I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

Can you tell us exactly what you did for this build? Can you report on the performance for keeping the cold out?

It looks like you basically sewed a 'tail' of fabric in to each end of your quilt, then a sewn channel at the end. Is that about right so far?

There's a little more info in THIS THREAD on the build. It keeps the drafts out just fine but I'm a cold sleeper and even down to 60* it was just barely enough. Last night I just laid a second throw inside and was nice and toasty so I may actually sew it in.
    Good luck,

Here's my CDT d.i.y. uq with some draft collars and using 2.5 blankets not the lightest but pretty warm slept down to 20 with and was toasty

And my d.i.y T.Q. using 2.5 CDT and a sewn foot box. It's my first project but I'm happy with it

So I thought I'd jump in on this thread. It's nothing special. Ripped the opposite seams and sewed it together with tabs throughout leaving 18" open by the foot end. Works pretty good. Also I've been using my dbl CTQ every night for months now. It's nice.

Show off your DIY Costco Quilts

    That is awesome Tyst!

I am working on a "summer" TQ for my kids...this scrap from my chair quilts is a good fit - plan to make the footbox and be done.

My son is 47 inches tall - I probably will sew on the back a layer of fabric without insulation just to help keep in all wrapped around him
