On my way home that clicking noise showed itself, but two hours later the Lake Lure fire department came to the rescue. Turned out all my lug nuts were loose and fell off. Who would have guessed..go figure. They put them back on and I was on my way...Grayson Hang 021.jpgGrayson Hang 024.jpg

Glad you caught it before damage was done Crawldaddy.
If I'm not mistaken, I met you at a Hot Springs hang several years back, when Ed Speer was hosting them.

If anyone is interested in returning to Grayson Highlands in a week or two, just comment here, or send me a PM. The porta-potty will be there for another couple of weeks, I think.

Maybe, just maybe next year, we shouldn't pray so hard for snow. I wish I could have been there, work interfered, & right now I'm home "under the weather" so even had I ben able to go, would not have had a great time.
Sounds like you guys did though. Wish Grayson hadn't had to close, but rules is rules.

One of you should contact Home Run so he can let the port-a-john people know that you are considering it so they won't pick it up before a decision is made.
Also, let them know at GHSP as soon you can that you are looking at that possibility.
Be sure to ask about the cost for the group site.

Of course there will be no cost for the site this past weekend but the firewood is another matter. Home Run has probably collected money for what was taken away.

I believe someone said "Lots of kerosene was used to burn green wood at Hot Springs. If that was the wood delivered to GHSP I'm hoping we can get seasoned, dry wood next time.
Please let me talk to them about that. They have gone above & beyond to help our hammockes. It even goes against their policy to sell firewood to us that way, but they have been nice enough to do it.

I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.
