    Hammocking on the PCT

Hey everyone, I am gearing up to hike the PCT this year. Does anyone have any experience with using a hammock on that trail? I know there is a lot of desert hiking. I guess I want to know if its possible to use a hammock for the entire trail. Thanks for the input!

I understand most PCT hikers just cowboy camp the desert sections. Some even leave their tents/hammocks behind until Kennedy Meadows. That's what I would do if I had the opportunity to hike it.

The guy who did this podcast slept in a hammock. . Said he had no problems finding trees even in the desert. http://www.trailsideradio.com/

Good luck man PCT is my dream. I'd like to fit it into my life sooner than later

Luke, the inventor of the 90 degree hammock (www.hammocktent.com) and who worked with Exped on developing the Exped Ergo, used a 90 degree hammock for the PCT a couple of years ago. He has an online diary of the trip. Check out the link or contact Luke for the link.
