Where did you find the bit about the 4mb cache? Did it indicate that it automatically holds historical reasons until a device connects to it?

Also, I don't know if you noticed, but the temperature sensor gives -40C to 125C +-1.5C and it's IR so I expect device interference with the reading to be a non-issue. Pretty impressive little bugger.

It's on the teardown page, the back number 5. I didn't see any indication that it holds til it is connected.

Ah, for "offline data storage." I would hope it would save results automatically but it could easily require custom firmware for that. Very interesting.

Picked up an Acurite thermometer with the separate sensor last night for $12. Heading out this evening with my son's Boy Scout troop for the weekend. Calling for a high temp tomorrow of 3deg. Looking forward to see how it works.

An update on my Tempo Disc. Turns out that the battery just died on my suddenly. Put a new one in and we're back up and running. The bad part is that I never get a reply from support about the issue. I got a reply about some bugs I found in the app though.

I'll have to try it out tonight. I'm planning on hanging in the back yard to see if my gear combinations will work for the -15°F that's forecast.
