    Warbonnet Ridgerunner and Gear Storage

Looking for suggestions on what others do to get there gear off the ground when using a WBRR. I have two WBBB and am used to putting my pack on the ridge line. I thought about stringing another line under the tarp that takes the place of the ridge line to keep gear off the ground. Any other suggestions?

I put mine on the RL at the foot end as it doesnt weigh much when most of the gear is out of it.

Stupid question, how do you put it on the ridge line without it swaying one way or the other?

I just use a biner to clip my Catalyst pack to one of the Amsteel lines on either side of the head end and that is usually high enough to keep the pack up and away from rain splatter and little critters. Never noticed it swinging much, ditto on weighing much as it's usually empty as well.

Ditto....a pack hanging a few inches off the ground really isn't going to discourage critters that would like to nibble on it. The stuff I want close at hand (phone, headlamp, etc) goes in the saddle bags. Food and toiletries are hung elsewhere. What ever's left (clothes bag, cookware, etc) gets crammed down in the pack, covered with a silnylon pack cover, and laid on the tyvek sheet under my hammock. Even with water sheeting off my tarp and running down the hill back under my hammock my gear hasn't gotten wet. In an extreme case I'll wrap the tyvek up around my pack (tyvek burrito) then put the pack cover on.
