It weighs 20oz w/suspension and without stuff sack, and cost ~$60 inclusive of shipping from RSBR.

That is a great looking UQ! With your N.C. flag TQ and this UQ, is there any sewing project that you do that doesn't turn out great! What an incredible talent you have!

Hey, you remembered! I did a lot of planning for this quilt and took my sweet time. Believe me, there is a long trail of crooked stitches and ripped seams behind me. My tarp is atrocious (but functional).

    Seam Allowances?

Basically, you mark the shell 1.5" in from the edge (assuming a 1" tall shell + 0.5" seam allowance) all the way to the edges of the fabric, then mark the diagonal in the corners. Bring those lines together, folding on the diagonal, and stitch the lines together on the wrong side of the fabric. Trim the little triangle that is left over, then join to the liner as usual using a 0.5" seam allowance from the edge. Hope that makes sense and the picture helps.
    Caminate,

Sorry to resurrect this, but I just bought materials to make a CS 6.0 UQ and wanted to make sure I understood all of the initial dimensions correctly. Do you also include a 1/2" seam allowance on the liner and channels?

I found a what I think is a pretty good video by Sailrite on making a box cushion and I think the techniques are similar, but the starting dimensions for the fabric are different. I believe they cut the fabric smaller so the cushion is held tightly by the fabric--obviously not something you want for an underquilt.

    Thanks for the help.

Sorry I missed this, Dave-O, was on vacation.

Yes, you need seam allowances on pretty much everything since they will be sewn into the "sandwich".

Georgeous quilt! Boxing the corners is a great idea. How did you prevent the climashield from shifting around inside?

    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Thanks, Caminante! Have you had a chance to hang this UQ under a hammock? Would love to see how it fits when suspended...Great work!

And thanks for the advice on my project!

It's stitched around the perimeter like most CS quilts that I've seen. Quilting loops aren't required w/CS to my knowledge, and so far the quilt seems to be performing.
