! NEW ! The Alpine Blanket @ AHE

    Just added the Alpine Blanket.

    http://bit.ly/1RZwyHC

Introductory sale price for one week! Just $99

In the design tradition of the KAQ line we have added a new product.

The Alpine Blanket is 60"x70", built with our first quality made in the USA 1.1/30D DWR coated ripstop nylon and a layer of 3.6oz APEX Climashield.

We have made a few of these and sent them out into the wild over the past 2 months. A couple of them went out in our BOX promotion that we had for the holidays and one a few weeks before that. The Gentle man that ordered the first one sent us some feed back recently.

"Hi Paul, well, we have had the blanket you made for us about six weeks now. My wife has used it pretty much every day, usually while watching TV in the evening. It is holding up well and is warm enough for her. She is very cold blooded and I thought very hard on if I should have had you use 3 season insulation. But the 1 season works well. I find it a bit warm the few times I get to use it so it is good for her. I think it will make it to my son’s spring baseball games too."
    Mark G.

We are excited to add these to the KAQ line, the original synthetic hammock quilts. With the addition of Silver to our color range we now have 9 colors to mix and match to pick just the right combination. So pick your favorite colors, your team colors or match your AHE hammock!

We could do the warmer insulation but it would be very warm. Shoot me a contact through the store and we can work out what it would run and how to order.

Did you pick your colors first? The quantity and add to cart functions are not active until both color choices are selected first.

I think that some folks are thinking the blanket is meant as a replacement for an actual top quilt. The Alpine Blanket is not available in 3 season and it is not meant as a replacement to an actual top quilt...compared to the Owyhee it is much wider 60+ inches rather than 48" and as it is not tapered or have any draw cords. It's bigger when compared with an owyhee 1 season...which would be the same insulation level. The Blanket would work as a summer time substitute for a quilt when you just need something light and comfortable to take the chill off but in no way is it a replacement for a top quilt made for backpacking.
