    Video: Backpacking the Sipsey Wilderness

Myself and Grapenut backpack and hang for a couple of days inside the Bankhead National Forest. We share some recipes, test some new gear and have a closer look at the Airship hammock and set up. Heck, we even busted out the beard cam on this trip for Roach. Our loop route was as follows: 200 ,224, 204 ,209 back to 200

    Part 1

    Part 2

    Don't be scared ,it's just a beard.

Nice to see you boys enjoying the New Year. I need to make Chicken Sink Soup in my purple (clearance sale) Jetboil. Also had a touch of vertigo from the beard cam. See you down the trail.

Awesome video as usual. How was finding water and good campsites on the 224. I'm going up in a couple weeks with some explorers and might use your loop for them. They won't be able to hike much each day, but if there is enough water and decent sites, I might go this way.

Unless I missed it or they were hidden away I don't remember seeing any water along 224, except for at the beginning at borden creek.

I'm all about deals. I don't care what color it is. Good to hear someone else doesn't mind buying purple or pink gear.

No campsites or water on 224. It's an old roadbed that runs along a ridge between the Clifty Creek drainage and the Sipsey Fork drainage. There is water and good campsites, but you just have to get off trail to find them. A better route for the explorers may be 206/204-204A/224/208 from Thompson TH in either direction.

Thanks for the video, Jaxx. Did y'all visit Big Tree? It is a short side trip off of 204.

Yeah I think we will go from Borden to Thompson. I saw his video and thought since the trail looked so easy that might have been a good option. I just don't see them going more than 3 or 4 miles at most in a day and I want to make sure they have plenty of water around
