I thought about using hammock/tarp as a ground blind for deer hunt. Find some spot on a little hill, hang there, maybe mask it a bit more with a camo net. Then lay in the hammock, hidden from any rain and observe any movement at any angle (pretty much 360 degree).

I plan to hammock during this years elk season. I'll move away from base camp higher in elevation and hopefully closer to the action. Nothing beats a comfortable hang after a hard day in the field.

He took down my thread about a DIY HAMMOCK chair(emphasis on Hammock) so maybe they're just cracking down on "off topic" post. I agree with btw. As for your question, I don't personally hunt with my hammock, nor do any of my friends. It's an interesting question.
Slowly swaying in a hammock is my version of a steady morphine drip, without the risk of renal failure.

If stability is a concern you could add a tie out to the side of your hammock to tie off to a third tree. That could keep you from swinging so you could get a steady aim.
