Optimal distance for a Warbonnet Ridgerunner hammock

    Guys,
What is the optimal distance between trees for a Warbonnet Ridgerunner hammock? I want to build a hanging arbor and am curious what would be the perfect distance for this hammock.

15 to 20' is norm for me but i think my best lay is around 18-19' distance.

I hang mine at home in my upstairs room that is about 12 foot wide...it works but the suspension is just about bottomed out. 15-16 foot will give you a good deal of wiggle room.

I was told the usual distance between the apex connector was 13 ft. You'd want a little single line to come off that connector on each end. 15 ft plus/minus a bit would be fine. Note that the bridge hammock is usually strung a little tighter than a gathered end (20 - 25 degrees).

But most important is these starting distances are just that, a place to start. You may like yours a little tighter or looser (be careful about getting too tight - it can put a tremendous load on the suspension). Once you find what works for you, you can tie a string between the two apex points as a gauge. It doesn't have to be Amsteel or anything fancy if it is not load bearing. You can just tie it on the apex points to get the distance and remove it once you are set up.
