Safe/Comfy weight limit on Hexon 2.4

What do you all think is the safe and comfortable weight limit on the Dutch Hexon 2.4? I would like to gift one to my uncle, but am not sure if this will be enough or if I should go for a double layer. I'd guess that he weighs 270 lbs or so.

I haven't used it, but a single layer should be more than good. I'm 245 and have been using 1.4 poly with no problem. The site says 400 for a single layer of the 2.4.

Yep, I was about to say disregard my post. I did a little searching and found a number posted from Dutch of up to about 450 lbs, so I think that that will cover me. The only downside is he doesn't have an UQ.....maybe I should go double layer for that reason......hmmmmm?

I have a half wit in the 2.4 and weigh 280. It is very comfortable and has a great lay.

You would probably only get a couple degrees more by doing that.

Well I am 6 2" 320 and never once did I think that it was going to break. Now I for some kind of reason, could not get comfortable in this with sleeping at an angle to get flat. I tried several times before going back to my tablecloth. I belive that for me it was not wide enough coming from a 90 X 156 table cloth gathered end. I have broad shoulders and felt that I was going to flip out of it at times. I loved the material though.

I feel ya... We are the exact same size and I just bought one in the 1.6. The quality is outstanding, however, it seems like it's about a foot too narrow for me. I'm also very broad shouldered. When lying correctly in the hammock, my shoulder pracically hangs off the edge of the hammock.

I didn't mention the double layer thinking it would be warmer.....I mentioned it so that he could use his pad in between the layers as insulation.....

Maybe I'll consider just making him the tablecloth hammock then.....I've got plenty of amsteel lying around to make continuous loops to whip the ends and such so.......hm. 90" seems REALLY wide though right?
