Well so far we are considering a Mt Sterling/big creek loop, using campsites 37/38. Only part I don't really like is the sites have 5-6 ppl booked already. We are looking into the option of using a taxi service to open up more possible routes.

OK I'll bite. Why don't you like 5-6 people having reservations at the same backcountry campsite as yourself?

Fairly obvious reasons, would rather not camp around other people if not necessary.

Easy but scenic is Little River Trail up to 24 or campsite 30, then back down and across over to 27 and then all downhill out to car. If there are others camping the spaces are far enough apart that yu have your privacy and private firepit. We had problems with bear robber at 24 a few yrs ago.
Good fishing during your entire hike.

This spring looking to do Deep Creek trail up to #58, across Pole Road Creek trail to #61, then return to the trail head via Noland Divide trail. Never hiked GSMNP - this will be a first trip there for me.

If you are coming in the next 30 days the low elevation would be your best chance. If you have s map the north trail to Abrams Creek would be a great trail.

    Planning to go mid Feb.

I'm looking forward to some snow- although too much might change plans. I figured I'd call the park and try to get trail conditions before finalizing plans.
