A friend's wife bought him Atlas straps. Can he attach the hammock with a continuous loop or dog bone. I was thinking a continuous loop by larks heading one end thru a loop on the strap then larks head the hammock??

How would you larks had both ends? And why don't you want to use a biner?
You larks head to the strap first. On the other end of the loop you'd make the larks head loop, and then slip it over the whipped end of the hammock. It can be done. It would be irritating to adjust, since you'd have to undo everything.
I also wonder why you wouldn't just use a carabiner? Could you tie a Marlin spike hitch in the atlas, or is it too much material?
If you have any amsteel around you could also make some soft shackles.
What he has on the hammock ? just continuous loop no biner no woopie ?
The Atlas strap's loop is for the easy clip on attachment, not appropriate for MSH or knotting.
Atlas and Python straps are definitely meant for biners.
Hanging in the woods, paddlin and catching trout- My kind of living...
If he doesn't want to use a carabiner he can try a soft shackle.
Omnia vincit lectulus pensilis.
If only continuous loop on the hammock and don't want to use hardware, try the sheet bend knot with the working end of strap, back with a half hitch for insurance
I don't see how anything other than a carabiner would work with Atlas Straps. Since they are basically a daisy chain sewn down the full length of the strap, you can't do much else with them!
I'd go with whatever is the easiest thing that works well.
What stops your friend from buying a couple of carabiners?
Too expensive? Hard to find? I'm having trouble understanding why someone wouldn't just grab a couple of carabiners and make their life easier.
Not that you couldn't tie a sheet bend or use soft shackles, but I think a biner would be easier.
You could probably just do a simple overhand knot through the continuous loop, but may not hold well.
Using a biner is the easiest by far.
