I'm sold. This is brilliant and for $1, it really can't be beat. Ill be looking at a few places this week(end) and see what I can find. I may pick up a couple (from different places) just for the sake of quality and length differences to see what I find.
Saw this from Trailsmith's video first. Gave it a try on a spare in the house and it did tear in places. As with everyone else, at $1, it is too cheap to care that it tore; I'll just replace every couple of trips. I suppose if I were going for a week or more, I might want more durability.

No disrespect to the loofah snake skins idea, but like others have said, it doesn't last long. I made my own snake skins with some 2nds quality mesh I bought from RSBTR a couple of years ago. I think it may have cost me $5? It took me about 15 minutes to cut and sew them (amatuer job at best), and they have been working great for 2-ish years now, no signs of wear or tears.

This is a really good idea. Thanks for sharing. Snake skins were on my list of wants but didn't want to Shell out the money for. I think I'll pick a couple up next time I'm at the dollar store
