New PU4000 fly wet on the inside

So I just received my new fly made from PU4000 and have been itching to set it up. I knew we had some weather coming in and what a perfect opportunity to test. I set my winter fly on the deck last night about 2am. No rain, but I feel like there may have been a light sprinkle a littler later in the morning. Doors were closed and all was well. Checked it this morning and damned if it wasn't wet on the inside and the outside. There was as much water on the inside as the outside. The doors were closed and upon inspection I found that they were dry in and out. There is a visible line where the fabric is wet and dry. Where it wet on the outside it's wet on the inside.

No one was inside so this isn't condensation, all seams are well sealed and there wasn't much if any rain.

So what's the deal here? Am I missing something?20160109_100933.jpg20160109_102802.jpg

You can get condensation on a tarp without being under it. I frequently set my tarp up in my backyard to sleep in 1-2 days a week and leave it up and find condensation under it even when I didn't spend the night outside. I assume it's from warm air rising off the ground and cooling and hitting the tarp, but I'm not a meteorologist.

I don't know if that is what is happening in your case - I've always tested my tarps by hosing them down on a sunny day and watching underneath.

I've seen this same thing in my backyard. I think it's a temperature and humidity combination that was just right.

I know it's not a direct comparison but I keep a lawn tractor in the yard covered by a tarp that is confirmed water proof. My tractor frequently has water on the seat and I think it's from condensation from the ground.

It's condensation. It happens with all tarps, and not much you can do about it. If you figure out a way to stop condensation, you'll be the first.

Thanks guys. The plan was to set it up and then enjoy the rain with a cup of coffee under my new shelter. Condensation came to mind and I'm not new to camping by any means, but I guess the first thought with something new is "is it faulty in some way". I'm new to all these great fabrics and my mind went there first.

Still hoping for rain. Have set her up in porch mode and I'm ready for a little relaxation. Too bad I can't hang my hammock where I have my fly out for testing.

The weather we have had lately is pretty conducive to condensation, especially with no leaves on the trees.
