    Southerner moving to MI

    Hi guys!

I'm moving to the Lansing, MI area at the end of February or very early March and wanted to see if anyone knows of any areas around Lansing that would be good and/or meet up with fellow hangers.

I'm probably not prepared for a frozen butt hang since our lows in SC are your highs right now, so I will probably be modifying my gear for the colder environment. Right now I'm good down to the 20s, so any locations would be great and anyone local that has any cold weather gear would be awesome!

    Thanks in advance!

Heeeeyyyy!!!! We're 30 minutes south of Lansing, lots of hangers in the state with a few events every year. Lots of great places within a two hr drive of Lansing. Northern Michigan is a wonderland in any season.
    Happy Hangin'

Michigan is great in any season, and sometimes we get all 4 in the same day! Preaty much anywhere in Michigan is close to outdoor fun. There are quite a few of us here.
It's not survival gear, it's just a bunch of work

Jackson Michigan - Home of Under Ground Quilts (HGQ) is in Southern Michigan. Check out their Website! They will take care of your Winter Needs and possibly allow a visit to check things out. I live in Ohio and really support HG, for state loyalty reasons. Both are quality gear providers and wonderful customer service.

2-3 hours north of Lansing puts you in hanging nirvana: Huron National Forest and Mackinac State Forest are just 2 examples. And welcome to Michigan where poisonous snakes and spiders are exceptionally rare.

Welcome to Michigan. Like Donk said, lots of great hanging north of you. Hoist Lakes, the Manistee River, North Country Trail segments, etc. Come out to a group hang sometime once your settled. Seems like someone's always planning something for Michigan.

It was 7* this morning. -10* with the wind chill.
You'll need to change your name to Chilled Ramen.
