Source for tent poles to use with tarp pull-outs to add room??

    Hello all-

I was wondering where you all get the tent poles for use on your tarps to pull them out for more room. I.E. The pics I see of them installed over the top of the tarp and each end attached to the tarps side pull-outs.

    Thanks in advance

Search this on eBay : Easton .340 Static Line 7075 Alum Tent Pole System Set Backpacking Replacement . I did a "make offer" and got them for 11 bucks.

I diy'd mine after watching some YouTube videos and using zing it with prussiks to secure it to my pull outs. Cheap and easy. Took about an hour or so. Make sure you have a small copper pipe cutter to cut the poles to length.

Dutch sells these as does JRB. Both good sources.

Quest Outfitters has a large selection.

+1 on Fleabay I got a set of .344 ultralights for $14. I got enough poles for two pole mods.

On Ebay, thanks to advice given on this forum, I bought enough .344 aluminum poles to make a full hoop set and a partial hoop set, with end fittings and shock cord, for under $20.

Anyone ever use old carbon arrow shafts?
I would rather be in the woods... my dog would rather be in the pool. My wife thinks we are both nuts.

If you are trying to go as light as possible, get some made by Fibraplex. They'll run you about $60 and take 6 weeks to arrive, but they are wonderfully made and very lightweight. I'd sell you my set for $45 if you're interested, as I am switching to internal pole mode.
