The suggested 25* seems to be good for me and foot around 3" higher. I tried the foot higher (10") like a gathered end but it seemed like too much

The angle might also be affected by the length of the spread between trees. Being the pole breaker that I am, I've often wondered if the bridge can be hung "too tight" resulting in the horrible snapping sound and cranial impalement from the head pole. Another variable is the use of a pillow/role under the knees. Agree that the foot SB ~3-4 inches higher than the head.

If you're breaking poles, try putting a ridge line on the ridgerunner.

That's a great idea! I have some 2m zingit with this mod's name on it. I hope the ridge line will work just above the dog bones and not interfere with the netting.

How many pole have you broken? I have never broke one and have one of the first WBRR that came out and have slept in mine every nite since then. And with the dogbones shortened and the stress my head spreader bar is under its still straight, but I also took the center 4" section out to keep from breaking and you just about have to discard it if you shorten the dogbones to aleviate the stress created on the head spreader bar. There has to be a reason if your breaking a few poles.

Acer, hodad has (or had, not sure which) the carbon fiber spreader bars for his RR; see the "RR -- How light can it go" thread here.

I connect mine to the dutch biners (in place of dog bones), easy on/off and it doesn't interfere with the netting at all.
