    WBRR hangle?

Question for WBRR owners: what is your sweet spot in terms of hang angle? 20*? 25*? 30*?

I never really pay much attention other than doing it by eye. It always turns out pretty good. If I do actually pull out my phone and check the angle i usually try for 25.

    When it feels comfortable.

I don't focus so much on the angle and just fiddle with it until the hammock is balanced from foot to head the way I like it.

Also, try to have the head end 6-8 inches lower than the foot end.

If its too loose (e.g., like a banana), you'll feel that when you lie down in it: on your back, it might feel like a regular gathered end hammock, but on your side or stomach will feel less comfortable to impossible. When its the right tension, you should feel fine lying in any of those positions in the RR.

The other thing that I've gotten wrong is to not remember to have my foot end a little higher (< a foot higher) than the head end. Those are the two things I pay most attention to. Brandon has a setup video on warbonnetoutdoors.com/videos about the hang angle being about 25 degrees; it might be good to review that. (Obviously that angle is after you have the RR's poles in place, since they tighten things up.)

Not everyone agrees, but part of the reason I like the WB is, for me, it seems very forgiving with respect to angle. I probably aim at about 20-30 deg but have had more and less comfortably. For me having my feet a little higher then my head is more important.

I have done a lot of testing with this, like a whole dedicated day and night to this and I have found "for me" that 28* is my absolute sweet spot with the foot end being 6" higher than the head end. To me, anything over 30* and it isn't as comfortable laying on my side but laying on my back is still comfortable, anything below 20* and it seems like the hammock is to firm or something. Your mileage may vary, but that's about where I've come to on it so far.

Now THAT is the kind of answer I was looking for! Thanks everyone for the responses. I may do like my man Trailsmith here and do some extensive trial and error.

Yu will find yourself sliding to one end or the other till you find your sweet spot of how high you want the foot end. And play with the angle of hang also. I hang my RR about 3" above my knees and then when i get in it it will sag just a bit downward. Re adjust and tighten a dash if necessary. All in your preference of lay.
