    Amsteel larks headed around Amsteel?

Is it safe to larks head an Amsteel loop around a single line of Amsteel? Or would the severe radius of the bend in the larks head compromise the strength of the Amsteel and/or damage the loops?

    My scenario:

I took the continuous loops and buckles off of my WBBB XLC, and replaced them with plain continuous loops. I typically connect the hammock's loops to my suspension with whoopie hooks. In the winter, I may want use the buckles, and I still have them on their own loops. Rather than removing the loops from the hammock, should I:

    1. larks head the CL+buckle around through the loop at the end of my hammock?
    2. larks head the CL+buckle around the gathered end (leaving the hammock CL in place and unused)?
    3. some other solution?

    Thanks!

I find "unbinding" the two from each other a pain. I would suspect a dutch biner type device would eliminate that issue.
Look up before you hook up!!

Ya, what's your looking for is just what ends up being a square knot. You take the CL that has the buckle on it, put that loop around the regular CL, then slide the buckle through the regular CL and pull tight. Comes loose no problem, have done it myself and no headwear is a plus.

Switch them out when going from one suspension to the other. This may also be the time to wash the hammock. You only switch them for the season, right. So it's only a few times a year.

There is no need to lengthen the suspension by attaching them together.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

This sounds best to me. I don't like Amsteel knotted to Amsteel. I'm also guessing you need to have the CL pick up the SRL in the larkshead so having two sets of CLs on the hammock would seem pointless.

You could just leave the cinch buckles on year round - its a bit of unnecessary weight for the convenience.
