You didn't mention how you plan on rigging your tarp. Do you anticipate that helping with the real low temps you anticipate?
I just set my Winter tarp as always. Good to go.

I made a diy peapod expander.. it goes from 3-4" at the foot end to around 8-9" on the head end. I got lucky and had an extra sleeping bag where the zippers matched up to my primary bag.

    Cool

[QUOTE=Shug;1631288]4 to 5 inches I think. Thought maybe I said in the video. The specs for the Alpinlite are in the description box below video. Not sure what you mean by height. Loft? If so 5 inches.

Thanks for the response. Height was probably the wrong dimension, I was wondering the length of the bag i.e. 6 foot or is it a long version. I might just have to give it a go, however winter is a ways off and certainly temps that that will require a pod.
Still it's fun to plan and then test out something new, my first winter trip was this past season and it was a blast!

The foot - what is around the foot of this pod in the video?

    Hey Shug,

What is the facemask you are wearing in this video? Is it fleece?

I've been trying to modify some neck gaiters to do the same covering of my nose and cheeks, but need a prototype idea. I was considering buying a balaclava and cutting the head portion off and I've tried to modify a couple but they put too much pressure on my nose, as it doesn't have the "nose flap".

You can see it in the video below at 8:36.
I got it many years ago and it is all fleece..no neoprene. Soft and warm. There is no name brand on it and I have searched all over online and can never find a full fleece one.
Last year I attempted to replicate it and made a few. The nose flap is the tricky part. I need to get back to it as I almost got it.
Once I tried to sleep in a fleece lined neoprene one but for sure not as comfortable.

I suppose the Christmas lights are mandatory right?

If at first you don't succeed, don't go skydiving.
