    [NEW] 1.6 oz Polyester ripstop

Not a ton of selling to do here. lf you like a firm, low stretch hammock that's also soft, this fabric is for you. What we've done is a 1.6 oz polyester square grid ripstop. This isn't the lightest possible poly, but poly isn't as strong as nylon, so I felt it best to go with something more robust. The high points:

    - What's the weight limit? Estimated 300 lbs

    - How's the feel? I specifically designed for the softest possible hand feel. Not quite as soft as 1.6 HyperD, but one of the softest polyester fabrics you will find.

    - What colors? Dark Brown, Olive Green, and Khaki. More to follow in the next month or so.

    - Has anyone worked with 1.6 oz poly ripstop? I've worked with this fabric and I think you'll find it very easy to sew. Holds a crease well due to it's dense weave.

    - Price? $4.75 /yd

We have a limited supply of this at the moment, so if you've been looking for a poly hammock shell, it might be time to act. Have a great night!

I made a hammock out of the 1.1 poly ripstop in MARPAT which is perfect for my needs/weight. This would probably be a good weight for my brother who is...a bit heavier. The low stretch and UV resistance are big pluses in my book, and it feels fine to me.

While other colors would be nice.... Charcoal Grey hint hint

Any chance of getting this in a wider cut... like the HEX70 XL (67.5 inches)?

Also do you have recommended max weight for a single layer?

We will add some colors soon, promise. Probably not in the immediate future on the XL version. 300 lbs on a single layer.

We just keep getting requests for plaid. Guess I'm going to have to break down and make some. Anyone else interested in plaid??? Posting some pattern pics wouldn't be bad either...

If you're coming to HangCon, I'm sure one of the Florida members would be glad to let you take a picture of the kilt I'm sure they'll be wearing.

Make it XL and I'd 4 yards even if it's plaid.
