    my new hammock

Thought I'd share my thoughts on my new hammock.
After pestering the Mecks with several emails, all of which were answered promptly and thoroughly, I placed my order on December first. They have a listed lead time of four weeks and when I placed the order they were just getting back from holiday but my hammock still arrived two days before Christmas.
I would like to thank the Mecks for the great work they do.
I had a chance to set it up and check it out a bit on Christmas and boxing day before taking it on a trip the day after until new years eve.
As has been reported, the quality is top notch, the comfort is there, and it looks sweet.
I chose the Envy-s 11' in dark olive hexon 2.4, left lay, with an argon 1.6 woodland camo peek-a-boo cover. I also ordered the add on bug net.
here are some shots of it in different modes.

I got to put it to the test on a 4 night paddle trip on a local lake.
I will just briefly touch on a few points as this isn't a trip report.
I really like the hexon material. It feels good and soft to the touch and the 2.4 feels very strong. However I think I would prefer a double 1.6. Just personal preference.
I was very concerned that it wouldn't be wide enough but I needn't have worried it is just fine. I woud like to try a 10' though as the 11 just kinda feels like too much hammock for me. No trouble reaching anything just felt long inside.
The zippers worked great with no effort and I like the configuration they are using now. it was cool to me to be able to reach out or enter either side.
On each of the four nights, I had differing results with the cover and condensation. First night was snowing and cold rain, cover closed all the way and a fair bit of condensation.
Night two was just below freezing and calm. I opened above my head quite a bit and had foot end condensation but just a little.
Night three was just below freezing and calm so I opened one whole left side and left the right side closed. no condensation.
Last night was freezing and very windy, cover closed and zero condensation.

I added a ridgeline organizer but kinda miss my bb shelf.
I switched out the tie out bungees for some stronger ones as I thought they were to weak, but after the trip I switched back and feel that they are better than the ones I added.
My Superfly fit well and so did my yeti after I lengthened the suspension about 10".
I really don't have much more to say about it. I like it a lot. It's too soon to say whether I like it more, less, or equal to my blackbird but so far so good.
Thanks again David and the Meck family, I really dig my new envy-s.

Great choice using the hexon. Best hammock fabric out there right now IMO.

One other thing I liked was they made the double ended stuff sack out of matching material to the cover. Nice touch.

Hmmm. Still doesn't make sense unless there is a dedicated head/foot end.

Similar story on my end - new envy-s, 1.6 hexon (not double layered). Absolutely love it!

Haven't gotten to go out on a trip yet, but have gotten to go on a few day hikes and set it up. Purposely hung on a ridge with the superfly and cover on, as I wanted to see how it did in the wind - and I was warm and comfy and took a 2 hour nap inadvertently. It almost turned into an overnighter, I was so comfortable, but we had evening plans, so I had to pack up and get back home.

The Mecks were outstanding to deal with throughout the order process. I pestered them far more than I should have and even made changes here and there, of which they were very accommodating. Nothing but good things to say from my experience working with them.

...oh and now both my kids want an envy-s... so they might not be done with me yet
