Thanks, they all enjoy the outdoors. I always say raise your kids to backpack and you won't have to make them backpack when they get older.

Hopefully they'll grow up with a love for the outdoors...just like their father.
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.

Parenting. You are doing it right. Your kids will remember those trips for the rest of their lives. Make sure you save those videos, much better than the faded photos us old timers have!

Awesome... Thanks for sharing that. Neither my daughter nor wife have any interest in getting outdoors.

A few weeks ago I did The Lemon Squeezer, around the lake and through Valley of Boulders.. Beautiful solo trip.

Happy to join up with you for a trip in the future if you want... I think we have communicated on Sintax77 forums..
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

I'm going to try and get up there this winter and check out the Lemon Squeezer and general area around there. I know that area gets crowded in the summer but figure in the middle of the winter I can avoid the crowds and still see all it has to offer. Fortunately for me I've been taking the kids camping since they were infants and my sons been backpacking since he was 2 1/2 years old. We also live on a few acres in the middle of farm country so the outdoors is all they know...its second nature to them. We dont have cable/satellite TV, they dont play video games, they dont have cell phones...all unusual for their age I guess, but Im trying to raise them to appreciate nature.
