    Summer Sock?

    Hello all,

I was looking to get some weather/bug protection with my holiday money. At first I was going to get a fronky bug net and a 2qzq UQP. But was thinking it would cost and weigh less just to get a summer sock instead of the two individual items.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to going this route instead of getting these items individually? Does the sock work any less than the other items would individually? The only thing I can imagine is that in the hot summer months an UQP may keep in too much heat when the skeeters are out.

    Please advise.

think te*t. with a lot of them you are enclosed quit a bit. I use a WB sock up to 75-80F. always gets cool at bed time

    Summer Sock?

IMO, the modularity of the big net and uqp is more convenient. Save the weight of the BN in the non bug season months. Save the weight of the UQP in the warmest months.

I'm in the keys right now for vacation and have been sleeping with my Hammeck Envy with integrated bug net, uqp, and a bed sheet and have been fine with temps in the low to mid 70s with steady wind all night long. In non bug weather, I would lose the bug net, and either use the top cover, or go topless depending on how cold it is. I could never use the top cover in the warmer months, I need maximum ventilation. I feel even the summer sock would suffocate me during bug season.
