I'm new here. I would love to come and meet some of you guys & see what/how you guys set-up your gear, etc.
I'm a little unclear on how these things work: do you guys just hang-out in the same place all weekend? or are you hiking places? Are you cooking food? Can you please give me an idea of the format?

Chris, first of all, newcomers are very welcome to attend, drop-in, whatever! So, by all means, show up, ask to look at various hammock set-ups, ask questions, introduce yourself, enjoy!Originally Posted by chrisgarrison888
Neo usually goes down on Thursday afternoon, and sometimes one or two others join in then or Friday. Saturday is when most show up. Depending on weather, interest, etc., we have done hikes, kayaking on local river, run into town, etc. Saturday evening is a "pot luck" dinner. Bring a dish or other food or drink to share. There likely will be a cook-tent set up or propane stoves on a picnic table, but be prepared to cook/heat your own food just in case. Neo will probably post info about all that and will post asking folks what they want to bring or folks will just post what they intend to bring to share. It's fairly informal and we always have food to share.
Sunday morning we might repeat for breakfast or run into town or to David Crockett State Park to eat. That's to be announced, I think.
You'll see a lot more posts about these final details next week, I bet, but feel free to post more questions or PM me if you prefer.
