    Loops?

    Yeah I'm asking.

Going to hang my WB XLC this week including the SF tarp.

Watched the video Brandon did on the SF and have my tarp lines, question is what type of knot/loop should I be tying to the ends for strength and simplicity?

Trying to get it as near as right as I can the first time.

What kind of line/rope do you have?

Many people tend to use something like Zing-it or Lash-it for their tarps. It's spliceable, and we splice in a fixed eye on the end instead of tying a knot to make the loop.

However that's not the only way to do it. You can easily use another type of guy line, and can tie a knot to create the loop. I'd suggest just making a bite (loop), and then tying that loop in a figure 8 knot, creating a more permanent loop. That should be plenty strong enough for tarp guy lines, and is relatively easy.

That's just one idea. Plenty of other options as well.

Have you watched any of Shugs videos, he is very thorough and he is very entertaining to watch.
Where are you going to hang your hammock and tarp? We are pretty close, maybe we could get together to set up the hammocks if you are interested.

Hey ppfd, I used to go thru Mason County all the time. Lived in Ripley and Ravenswood area most of my life. I knew a couple of people in Mason County. I am new to hammock camping and have been trying to get out but between work and family, I just haven't had the time. Give me a PM sometime if you would like to get together and set up your hammock and tarp.
