    Camping hammock color

Camo hammocks seem to be a somewhat popular choice on the forum. So, for those of you who attend group hangs, what percentage of people choose it? And for those of you who do, why? I don't have any backpacking, camping or climbing equipment in camo but just ordered myself a hammock that is. I just really liked its looks.

The "you can't see me" crowd is very passionate, and they like to blend in. However, camouflage is a very inexact science and I just don't bother.

Personally I do not like any of the Camo pattern gear. 21 years of wearing it for Uncle Sam knocked the fun out of camo for me.
I go with green, blends in enough.. and the Christmas lights on the tarp are a give a way any way.

I prefer darker browns to blacks in order to disappear into the black holes of the forest...
Never had any liking for camo prints myself

Heck a friend of mine who should be into Camo prints has a UGQ Burnt Orange tarp on the way for his kit...he wanted to be different

Some of the places I camp tend to be the same places hunters roam. I have some brighter color pieces to help stand out. I'm sure camouflage has its uses in certain situations but not for me.

I've always preferred earth tones whether in clothing or gear. I don't like bright or flashy anything and yes, I like to "disappear" when in the woods. Everything I buy is muted, even my new flat black headlamp, didn't want the neon green or orange. Camo patterens have been tested time and time again and results vary greatly per environment and seasons but it doesn't sound like you're looking to disappear like a sniper on a hillside either. I like how some patterns look in the woods, it's more soothing to my eyes than purple or safety orange. Kind of like hearing someone's radio playing rap music in the woods compared to a babbling brook.

I bought a Multicam UQP and I think it works well in our Winter terrain of Northern Virgina. Because of the UQP, I have no need for for a camo hammock but you can see I do need to upgeade to a brown Hexon 1.6 from Dutch. I should have taken a shot from further away, it really blended well, love me some Multicam.

I don't care for the current camo offerings. Now if we get some real tree or mossy oak I will have some gear from it.

camo doesn't trip my trigger either. I've got blue, grey, black, and just received a blaze orange netless. Tarps are grey and black.

For the most part, I don't mind being seen.

This is one of the cool things about hammocks. Everybody has their own style and it is cool to see them all.
