how to keep for later and other questions

I know this question has probably already been asked, but how do I flag a thread so I can look at it later?

Secondly, can I flag a post? For example, the FL DOE thread has 37 pages so far. If I want to find the post that gives directions later it will be impossible unless I can mark it.

Third, is there a way to tell if a member is male or female (besides from the photo). This would be useful when someone asks to carpool.

Right above the thread is a button that says "thread tools". Click that and subscribe to the thread. Another way is to comment and if your settings are set, it will subscribe you.

I don't believe you can save a post.

No, unless they tell you in their profile you can't tell the men from women.

While I don't think there's specifically a way to tag or flag a particular post within a thread for followup later, there is a more low tech workaround:

The header for each post within a thread has a post number to the far right (for example, this is post #3). If you click the number, it will bring you to a URL where that post is the first displayed. You can then bookmark that particular URL, and it will bring you back to that post when selected from your bookmarks.

For example This URL brings you to post #58 of the Hammock Forums Google Maps thread.

Combined with the above ↑ you can use Google Keep (or the similar note apps that Microsoft and Apple have) to keep a list of URLs along with notes about why you saved it. These apps are like advanced versions of the sticky note app. Letting you draw, insert a photo or screenshot, make lists with check boxes where checked off items move to the bottom as you complete tasks... I use the drawing tool to post quick ideas here and other social media when I'm trying to explain something
