    February gear run

I am going light weight next year, and have come up with this list. My usual pack weight is 45 to 50 pounds, so this new system I am gonna spend around $1500.00 and get my weight dropped down a lot.
    #1) Pack- ULA Ohm2.0
#2) Hammock- Hammeck Netty (I already own)
#3) Tarp- standard cuban fiber with doors, "in camo" 12' ridge line & snake skins
    #4) Toaks titanium shepherds hooks
    #5) TQ- Burrow 20 degree
    #6) UQ- Incubator 20 degree
#7) New suspension- cinch buckle system
#8) Cookware- Toaks 750ml pot, BRS titanium stove,
I still have till February too make my decision. This is a lot of money but my back needs this, besides my wallet will be light, lol.
So if anyone has any suggestions I would like to hear them. Thx, Rick.

Looks cool to me! I really like the "burly" lawson ti stakes... more holding power than the regular ti for sure. Any reason why youre looking at a 12 foot tarp ridgeline? I know some like a 12 foot, but I think it definitely makes it harder to find trees to fit it, and an 11 foot hammock fits with about a foot of space on each side with an 11 foot hammock RL around 83 percent. I see that you have a 10 ft. Netty so that would be even more space with an 11 foot tarp. I have also read and heard that the HG cuben with doors is not very wide compared to other tarps with doors and getting them fully closed easily. I would go with a winter palace .. Obviously not cheap at all. If I really got what I wanted it would be a winter palace with doors only on one end. Most never use both sides, and maybe you can get it cheaper than a full WP. That being said HYOH!!! and a standard cuben tarp with doors is still an excellent purchase.

What is your goal pack weight? What is the weight of the listed gear.

I dont know what you use now, but I can say the ULA ohm is great. My wife uses one, (I have a circuit)- she loves hers.

Can't go wrong with good down TQ/UQ's. It still amazes me at how light our sleeping gear is, and we are good down into the teens easily.

The cuber fiber stuff seems impressive weight wise- just not cost-wise lol.

I've been going through a similar process. I'm down to the tarp, UQ, and pack. I'm currently debating going with a ULM pack or an even lighter one from another supplier. I'm 6'2" so fit is a concern on a mail order pack. I have a synthetic UQ so going to down is probably lower on my list than a light Cuben tarp.

I know the WBRR isn't the lightest but I've got RLS and it's the only hammock that I've been able to hang in all night. Maybe if I give up the coffee a lighter one would work. (Shug frowns.)

Also check out zimmerbuilt packs. They do custom work so that might be a good option. And the weights are super reasonable for the size of the packs.

I would agree that a HG winter palace is worth the extra 100$ and 2oz for the coverage. It'll probably be my next purchase.

If you really wanna be a gram weenie then you could save like 1 oz using whoopies and a MSH for suspension but cinch buckles are probably more versatile

Good luck with this. I'm also interested in lightweight as I don't like to carry a heavy pack. Hope it doesn't only lighten your wallet

whoopies/kevlar huggers would save some weight. If I was using anything less than a Circuit, I'd wanna shave as much as possible.
