    WBRR Under-quilt options

    Hey gang,

I have been away for awhile adjusting to a new job. I hope everyone is well.

I am in the market for a full length 20 degree(min) UQ for my WBRR. Are the WB Linx and the UGQ Ambush the only options in full length 20 degree under quilts?

Just wondering if I have missed anything in my absence. I really wish HammockGear made one!

    Happy Hanging!

I'm wondering about this same question as well. Nothing against Warbonnet but just wanted to know what my options are.

Not at all. Any rectangular quilt can be made to fit, but you'll probably have to rig your own suspension. Since the stock will be designed for a gathered end hammock. Generally speaking you just need suspension lines from the corners.

A shaped quilt like the HG Incubator may work also (many have reported it) but my concern is the shape causing gaps.

However if you don't use a specific bridge quilt the side pockets wont be useable, as they will interfere with the quilt.

This is made just for the RR, and I believe UGQs are the best made.

Boston is exactly right. A rectangular quilt can be used but will probably interfere with the use of the pockets.
Here's how the 42" wide Jarbidge works on the RR. I had Paul at AHE make a New River at 40" wide and it works pretty well - still can't use the pockets in cold weather or a gap is created. I had him make it in the 'long' length but I believe the 'regular' length would have worked better.

I used a full length UGQ under quilt on my WBRR and was pretty satisfied, but it tended to be problematic installing and adjusting. I bought am Ambush from UGQ and PERFECTION! I have since bought my wife a WBRR and an Ambush, she too is happy.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

If you get a roughly 30 inch wide by 70 inch long rectangle area (see costco quilt links) you'll be able to insulate yourself and still use the pockets. The key is making sure the suspension holds up the middle tight enough to not get a draft. If you use the spindrift this isn't as big of an issue. My diy has worked great so far, but I haven't got it down below 20 degrees due to this horrid warm weather in MN so far this winter. If you're into DIY and have a costco near you, a 30 degree UQ could be made for under $40.

I've never had a problem using my standard size 20* HG incubator on my wbrr.
It fits perfectly in my opinion. I've never seen a Lynx but I am very happy with my incubator and burrow setup.
