gear/chair hammock suspension?

I made a couple of gear/chair hammocks this past summer but I haven't decided on the best suspension system yet. I have CL prussiked to my ridgeline to suspend it as a gear hammock. For those that use a gear hammock, what cordage do you use when you hang it beside/under your hammock?

Also, any suggestions for what suspension to use when using as a hammock chair are welcomed.

I just use whoopie slings, because I've always got some of them lying around.I attach them to the connection points at the end of the hammock if I'm not using them inside my hammock, prussiked to the RL, like you mentioned.

I'm tall, and I like my hammock fairly high off the ground, so there's plenty of room under me, usually. In a situation where I hang lower, the gear hammock is suspended right along side my hammock, and it doesn't really bother me.

I haven't used them as a hammock chair yet, though. I guess I'd just use straps and toggles/MSH, like with my hammock.

I use some old Dynaglide UCR's. I can also use them for chair use with some short tree straps. You could also use some UCR's or Whoopies made from zing-it if you are not using it for chair mode. Would be a little lighter and still fully adjustable. I like mine above the hammock in mild weather (hanging the tarp high) or beside the hammock in bad weather. Keeps my stuff dry and accessible.

Thanks Mychal & Country Roads for your input. I have some lash it available that I can use to make some whoopies or UCRS. I may even be brave enough to try lash it in chair mode since Sunny is brave enough to use it for his suspension system for his UL hammock.

I wonder if you could rig up some dual suspension that lifted as well as pulled down to "level" the chair. Had anyone tried something like that? Just curious, first I've heard of a hammock chair.
