    Square(or Rectangular) Tarp Doors;NOT Asym

So, I'm looking to upgrade my tarp. I have a ProFly and the more I use it, the less I like it. I'm looking at the SuperFly, but that's a whole nother thread. If I don't get the SuperFly, I'm looking at a Snugpak All-Weather Shelter or something similar. So, my question: Using a square or rectangular tarp on a ridgeline lengthwise, not asym, could I fashion doors effectively? Has anyone ridden out a storm with a setup like this? I've made a setup like this before in my yard just messing with a tarp, but it wasn't very secure. The gaps between the "doors" were a little wide for my tastes, but I wanted to see if anyone used a setup like this.
    Thanks,
    D

I'd forget about the Snugpak All Weather Shelter - 35 ounces and 10 x 10? I don't think there's a heavier tarp on the market, and you'd be hard pressed to get doors out of it.

The Superfly is exactly what you seem like you need - the premier 4-season tarp with doors. Lots of my friends have one; the only reason I don't is because I have an HG Winter Palace.

I have a SF and love it. It's very versatile. It can be set up so many different ways. It's also a top quality product.

For $90 I wouldn't waste my money in the snugpak. It's small for a hammock tarp, and heavy.

To answer your question: Potentially you could make doors with a 10x10 by using 1 guy out point in the middle of the tarp, and folding in. Interior space would be limited. Or you'd have to pitch it very narrow.

I've done doors with a 10x12 rectangular tarp, and it's a pretty popular tarp choice. In order to get the doors pretty close you need to pitch pretty steep though. That works fine if there is no wind, but if it's really windy you'll need panel pulls too in order to keep the tarp from hitting you.
