This hike and hang is bitter sweet for me. This is the hike I met Ron, Olddog, Grinder, Mad777, and some of the other FL hangers. It's also the one where I hiked 13 miles and some change with way to much weight and thought I was going to die on the hike out. I will try and make this hang, it's been quite a few months with my father getting hurt, and my dog being sick but I will try and make it out would love to see ya'll again.

I'll have to be missing this stroll in the woods. However, by the time February rolls around things will calm down at work and I might be able to join in again. I'll be looking for pictures again! Hope the weather cools down for y'all.
Looks like another great weekend with temps similar to the last hang. Highs in the 60°s and lows in the 40°s in Dade City, cooler in the woods. Chance for rain Friday. Looking forward to putting in some miles thru some of the best in central Florida.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
I'm going to try to make it to this hang. I'm trying to finish some sewing projets now. But I should be able to make it.
I'll be there sometime Friday afternoon. I'm considering parking at the Dade City entrance by the river and adding a few miles extra on Friday. It'll probably depend on the weather/rain.

My son would like to join us, I have a HH hammock w/whoopies and a 30* sleeping bag he can use. Anyone have enough extra gear to complete a set up for him? I have a tent but sleeping on the ground stinks.

I have an extra tarp. He can use. What else do you need.
All I have as he's never shown much interest is the hammock and the bag, so I would need tree straps, toggles,UQ, and tarp. I have some extra stakes. If he enjoys himself I'll start working on completing the set up, I'm excited he wants to come.
