Mosquito Hammock Expedition or Jungle

Hi,

I am brand new to hammocking and I am looking forward to my first
hammock. I have narrowed it down to a Mosquito Hammock Expedition or
Jungle hammock. As best as I can tell the only difference is the
length of the hammock. For either the Expedition or Jungle I will get
it without the tarp and get either a MacCat or other silnylon tarp. I
am 6 feet tall and currently 190 lbs (goal to lose a few more). I am
leaning towards the Expedition, but wonder if there are any
advantages/disadvantages to the Jungle.

I have read a lot of the posts here and at other forums and I am
taking lots of notes with regards to pads, outer quilts, inner quilts,
etc.

Nice to have you here! Tom claytor's jungle hammock i believe is a little bit longer than the mosquito hammock. I havent been near the product but judging from the specs the jungle hammock would be suitable for taller person. I might be wrong, so just check tom claytors site.

I would highly recommend the Jungle version. (I own two) I've tried the Expedition model and at 6'2" I prefer the added length of the Jungle. One drawback.....the MacCat tarp really is not long enough for adequate coverage. The Claytor diamond tarp is 13' long....the MacCat Deluxe is only about 11'. Most of the folks that own Claytor hammocks seem to have chosen the Jungle model. Feel free to ask any more specific questions you might have.

i like the jungle,but the mosquitto gave me a neck ache
i get a perfect lay in the longer jungle hammock neo

I got a little antsy so I ordered 2 Expeditions (1 for me and 1 for my son) with their 8x10 tarp. I will give these a try and if it is too short, I will try a Jungle for myself later. By the way, I have sent a few messages to Tom and/or his info email address and haven't heard anything in about 4 days. I hope my order gets processed a bit quicker than that.
