As for the port-a-john, Ranger Marcia told me that the cost for renting it is the same for a month as it is a few days, so if there are some who have an interest in another try in the next few weeks, Home Run could delay the pick up.

Homerun texted me they had a windy & wet night and have 3" of snow with wind currently. 10 Folks are there and he said it was all good!

I was looking at coming up, but it looks like they've closed Hwy 25 right at I-26. Unless I take back roads, I'm not going anywhere. Enjoy, guys and gals.

Dimjim had texted me a few times last night before the snow fell but nothing today. He was hoping I could leave work and still make it out last night but I would have arrived around 9 pm, in the dark, alone and I didn't like where that would leave me if I slid off the road so I waited until this morning. Now it looks like I am at home for the weekend trying to be helpful and keep an eye on the roads from here. It sounded like everyone made it into Hot Springs just fine yesterday.

There was a city of Hickory plow going up my street at noon which nearly spun out into my front yard and the only other vehicles out today have been pizza guys so I lack a certain level of confidence in the snow-skills of those on the road today. I grew up driving in it but those roads were always treated with salt, well plowed and everyone was used to it. With almost no salt/sand down, plows making only one pass and drivers generally lacking any snow legs it seems like too many elements are in place for unsafe travel right now. Hopefully some of it is melted off by Sunday.

Well i have decided to stay home roads are getting bad with ice and snow. Might plan on hitting the gorge saturday If anyone is at hawksbill But im sure the roads want be much better!sooo who knows might drink a cup of hot tea and think about it! PackRat let me know if you guys made it!!
