I talked to Hickery & Home Run by phone today.
Home Run had not been able to get in touch with the lady that took Ranger Marcia's place to confirm that they would be bringing a load of fire wood to the group site.

I emailed Marcia & she texted the lady at GHSP.
Turns out that the internet & phone lines are down at GHSP. But the wood will be delivered, either today (Wed) or tomorrow (Thurs).

Also, Hickery is bringing a load of wood as well & should be there around mid-day tomorrow (Thurs), so you should be in good shape on fire wood.
He also Has the 20 X 30' Tarp to shelter the fire area. The extra tarps will be used as wind blocks around the sides of the pavilion.

And... Home Run says the port- a-john has already been delivered to the site.

I got to test my winter wagon for the first time today. AWD and snow tires are amazing. There's 5" of snow here and I was able to start up the steepest road in the subdivision from a stop and didn't really spin.

I think I should enjoy this time much more than a couple years ago.

Another note from our Ranger friend, Marcia...
"Also, I'm sure you're aware, but the current snow forecast is calling for 1-3" today(Wed), 8-12" Fri & 3-5" Sat. Roads will be pretty bad as temps won't get above freezing over the weekend."

Like I said before, they will plow the main road in GHSP as well as the road to the campground but there will still be compacted snow/ice on the road.
Drive careful. I think it's a good idea to have a few things along in case you or someone else has a problem on the road...

If anyone can throw in a little extra rope or strong cord it might come in handy for securing tarps.

And please... somebody come up with a better trail name for dimjim!
    He's not dim at all.

Everyone be safe and take lots or pics or some good video footage of all the snow falling.

Good advice, Slowhike. I'm really sorry you can't make it. You'll be missed. It's a good thing that you have trained so many of us in advanced tarp deployment.

I am bringing my spare Amsteel. At 2000 lbs per cord, it should be easy to make a tow rope. Nylon would be better, cause it's stretchy. I've driven on the GHSP roads many times with my little 2WD car. It takes some experience, that's all. The advice is good. I have a shovel and some sand in the car. The main thing is to be aware of road conditions.
