"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver
Good idea. I've heard that it's actually illegal to transport firewood across state lines. Not sure about that, though. Regardless, it's always best to get firewood locally due to pests. Anyway, the group has bought firewood, to be paid for by the raffle. Buying a couple tickets is the best contribution.

Hey there bonsai,
It is due to the emerald ash borer, details at this link https://www.aphis.usda.gov/wps/porta...SA_Emerald_Ash
Roche
Yeah, we ask people not to bring it from any state/area were it has been confirmed.
And according to the article Roach linked, it was first found in your state
" emerald ash borer beetle (EAB) was unknown in North America until its discovery in southeast Michigan in 2002".
I know Hickery is bringing a load in his truck. Hopefully Home Run has been able to find another local source to make sure there is plenty.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
I plan to be there for the hike tomorrow. Hoping to be at the parking lot no later than 1:30-2:00 if I'm not there by then leave without me and I'll just go to the group campground. See you guys there
It's not the fall im scared of, it's the sudden stop at the end!!!
Only hang as high as your willing to fall- H.F. member
I have a decent sized tarp with me. I want to say its 10 by 14 or so but I don't have any ropes to tie it out. If someone brings some extra rope then that would be awesome.
