I'm guessing you don't stay in one place very long? Studying the maps and trail guides as you doze off so you you don't have to think about where you're headed in the am?

Ok, you're calling it a night; so what all

My only hangs were on the deck for testing and one solo wilderness hang. On the deck was to test out gear for cold weather so in my Ridgeline bags I had a bottle of water, Snickers bar, small LED lantern, frog light on line, hand warmers, gloves, beanie, temperature gauge, earplugs for street and train noise and an insulated do rag. For my mountian solo hang I had a battery LED string of lights, insulated do rag, beanie, gloves, headlight, frog light, water bottle, phone, digital temperature gauge, hand warmers, whistle hanging from line in the hammock side pocket. My large Schrade 9 fixed blade was in my lower gear hammock along with my clothes.

In ridgeline stow, phone, knife, headlamp, and carmex. Quilts, and if cold, alcohol and water filter between hammock and UQ, and sometimes hot water bottle.... but usually down booties are good enough.

Hot water bottle has come up a couple times, I'm going to have to read that thread.

Ha, earplugs, I totally get it! and I hadn't thought about the eyeshades/sunglasses.
Haha, I started collecting knives when I was a kid, sold kitchen knives in HS, and recently got back into buying knives again when I upped my camping. Don't know why, but I totally agree!

Bedtime list: headlamp, solar powered lamp, water bottle, knife, phone, and a book. Sometimes I'll bring the down vest or jacket in just in case.

I don't really feel a need to have my knives with me in the hammock, I'm not really likely to need to cut stuff while sleeping.
I do like to have a light handy, they are useful when it is dark, you know, for seeing things . . .
I often keep my phone with me, especially if I want to do some reading before falling asleep.

The first few times I slept in my hammock I had to have a knife with me somewhere. I had visions of me getting up to pee and forgetting about the bugnet. I could just see me laying on the ground all tangled up in netting and no way to cut myself loose! Ha! Besides, I feel naked without my pocket knife.

The only reason I hang my knife on the ridgeline is because I dont want it in my pocket when sleeping because its not comfortable if I lay on it. I always carry a knife even when not hiking, so basically if Im not sleeping its on my person. Its easier to hang it on my ridgeline than bring my nightstand with me to place those EDC items before going to sleep.
