Turk, I'm right there with you on the flaws. Shoulder squeeze is definietly going to be an issue and I had the same thought about spreader bars; I figure a trekking pole at the shoulder "straps" should do it.

The tarp system (or lack thereof) is the primary reason for my hesitation. But, that's why I like the cottage industry; they will seriously listen to ideas. When I order this "thing" I'll be doing so as an experiment and will be counting on the "great minds" of this site to help debug the rig. I actually already have an idea about water running down the single point connection. I'll see if it works. The tag lines shouldn't be too much of a problem with the right knots in place. Weight is no issue (at this point) as this will be a "fun" hang akin to car camping.

Give me two weeks and you'll have pictures and comments to consider. As I said before, it will mostly be for fun and I can't help thinking of the views.

    Welcome to the forums!

I don't believe Cannibal and onaXR are active anymore.

I know that the site search doesn't work well for trying to find anything about the Bat hammock because it filters short words. Here is a custom google search that might help: https://www.google.com/search?q=site...om+bat+hammock

I looked through the results and this is the most complete discussion: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...read.php?t=519.

Unfortunately, that's all I can tell you.

I don't think he's posted in two years. If he's around, it is a weird sort of around.

“The word hammockable (Meaning: two trees that are the perfect distance apart between which a hammock can be hung) is not in the dictionary, but it should be.”
