VIDEO: Warbonnet Superfly setup & tips

After two years and many nights under my Superfly, I decided it was time for a review, of sorts. While fiddling with gear in my back yard yesterday, I decided to shoot some video of how I set up my tarp. A lot of new people on these forums, ask about tarps and this one in particular. The set up and tips are not exclusive to this tarp. They will most likely work on other tarps, as well. Those of you, who are on the fence, about buying this tarp, I hope this will help in making your choice. Many thanks to Brandon and the Warbonnet team, for the design, workmanship and detail, that went into making my tarp. It's an outstanding piece of gear!

I do something similar with the doors on the inside but use tarp door hooks instead of mitten hooks. I then attach the door hooks to the cord hanging off the triangles (instead of the triangles themselves). Agree with you it works nicely.

I think I'll fasten my doors under the tarp, too, next time!

Nice video. I've thought about testing out separate lines for the ridgeline but my CRL works so well for me I've just never really felt the need to switch. Granted, I don't use prusics so my tarp never sags as you described. Still, you made a really good point about knowing your SRL length on your hammock and eyeballing how to split the difference on each end of the hammock. That pretty well negates the benefits of easy adjust ability using a CRL, unless of course you are setting up in the rain and want to do the tarp first... Even then you can probably make the hammock fit the space under the tarp without much issue. It's always nice to see how other people use the same gear I have. I think I'll be clipping my mitten hooks now after seeing how slick yours work. Thanks for posting.

I just used mitten clips, as that was what I had laying around at the time.

The CRL works well for some people and they like it. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind about them. It just didn't work well for me. I think the point I had enough of them, was when I rolled into camp one night after dark and had a heck of a time setting it up. Everything works well in daylight, at home in the back yard, but sometimes not so much, out in the woods. YMMV
