    West coast underquilt?

Hi all I'm going to be purchasing my first underquilt soon! I know the pros and cons of synthetic vs down and I use down bags for tenting. I'm wondering if any west coast hangers have had any issues with their down underquilts getting wet (not so much from rain but from fog and mist off the ocean on coastal trails). I have been on several trips where the mist has damped up our gear but the bags are ok because they are in the tent when sleeping or kept dry in the backpack. Just wanted to hear if anyone has had real experience with their down underquilt soaking up the moisture and becoming uncomfortable? Do I worry too much? Probably...

You have a legitimate concern. I usually stuff my quilts away until it's time to use them and then tuck them away again just because they have a tendency to avsorb moisture out of the air down by the ocean.

Would this be alleviated by the use of an UQP on the outside, or a weather sock?

The use of Dri-down , HyperDri down or the equivalent may be the saving grace for high humidity environments.
