The easy part is getting the kit, the hard part is finding the time to make the tarp! I bought a silpoly winter tarp kit a while ago, and just simply haven't had the time.
Good luck on your tarp build!

I think the hard part is picking out which color and fabric to go with. Once it arrives, its just one step in front of the other until the tarp appears.

Don't forget about the gift card offer for submitting your MARPAT tarp project. Doesn't look like anyone has submitted any of their project builds yet. You'd still have a chance for the time being...

I also couldn't pass up the deal and picked up a Multicam Winter 12 kit. Had been meaning to for quite some time and the discount finally made the multicam expense much more reasonable.
Good luck on your build!
So my kit came. The selvage edges seem to be fraying more than a factory selvage edge should, but that shouldn't be a problem. I do have a question though. Flat-felled/French seem hybrid ridgeline, or grosgrain encased a-la Warbonnet SuperFly style? Will the grosgrain add much strength to silpoly?
I did the flat-felled/french hybrid and it turned out really nice. It does take a while to do it though since you are running 3 stitch lines. Also if you aren't careful it won't be flat.
One thing I would recommend on the ridge line is to turn down the stitches per inch a bit. I use about 6 stitches per inch. If the stitch length is too small, you increase the risk of a tear under high tension. Probably not as big of a deal if you're going to fell the seam.
