    Cool Lash it! Whoopies

I just received my order of lash it and I must admit it is smaller than I expected. I love the UL challenge of pushing it, so I'm now to make the whoopie slings for the argon 67 that's in the mail and on its way. I'll report back with pics after the whoopies are made I know, I know, I'm going to die....ahhh

You prob won't die, but you will definately feel the ground at some point. I had a ridgeline break that was lash it and that was just a ridgeline. I almost would think it's a guarantee that you will break these at some point if you hang off them. Is being that much lighter to save an ounce worth it really? If they do break, even if you don't hurt yourself, what will you hang your hammock on if you're in the woods. But HYOH... Though I would hang it low and not over anything too hard or pointy for a while

    Good luck with that.

Making these whoopies is maddening! I'm having trouble pulling the tail through. Small Gorilla tape strips aren't holding and bending the end over to pinch the fibers to pull it through always leaves a point that is getting hung up. Any suggestions...

My bet is, the whoopies will survive - but only because the Argon 67 will rip first. My underquilts are made with Argon 67, and I definitely wouldn't want to make a hammock from it.

Good luck. But I agree with the sentiments above. That set up will fail at some point. And that one day, when your 30 miles from the car. and it's raining and dark. and your rear hits the ground. and your quilts get soaked an torn. During that moment, as you curse the gods for your misfortune. Remember that your friends at Hammock Forums tried to warn you.

Lash It is better suited for your tarp than your hammock.

I bet it'll work perfectly fine as long as your hang angle is not extreme. I've put a lash-it continuous loop between my climbing harness and a dynamic climbing rope (using carabiners) and taken some short top rope falls (above crash pads and only at bouldering height). I couldn't get it to break.

I probably should mention that I'm also 150# wet on a heavy day.
The fabric tearing is more of a concern to me, I planned on folding the channel over twice to create extra layers at the stress points.

Should I whip the ends instead of channels?
